Ande Foster is a music producer and sound engineer with Soundhive and 98.9fm (Murri Country). As part of the SeedPod performance Ande will put together the sounds you create and make a soundtrack that will be played over the PA!
Saturday 21st February:
These workshops will be a Pandora's box of what you can create. Images of puppets will contribute to the Seedpod twilight pageant. Come to one, come to all! All ages welcome.

Mark Bright's 'Podlets':
Festival performer and artist Marc Bright will be linking with selected local schools in the next two months, doing some small musical performance pieces with the children as a lead up to their participation on the day.
On the day of the Festival, Mark will entertain in the children's activity tent 'Podlets' which has been sponsored by Raine and Horne Real Estate.

Festival Seedpod Pageant:
The theme , Seedpod, relates to the pod bearing plant species that grows on the bank of the Mary River. The Pre-Festival Workshops resulting in 30 Seedpods of varying sizes and shapes installed randomly at the open air site.
There will be a series of large sculptured seedpods suspended in the air. These colourful moving sculptured pieces will be illuminated during the evening for the sculptural light pageant.
The presentation will see small children performing to choreographed movements with musical accompaniment from percussive instruments made from seedpods.
Festival Workshops and Art Displays:
On the day of the festival there will be a full range of creative activities, including; on site Art Seed Pod creation, Art Workshops, Sand Painting, Paper Making, Mini Art Exhibition, Face Painting, Puppet Display and African Drumming.
2008 'Celebrating with Mary'
2008 Mary River Festival saw a day full of fun and arty activities which resulted in a spectacular Twilight Lantern Parade with the Cuban Carnival Rhythm.
There where costumed performers and stilt walkers joining in the fun with everyone else.
Bringing the Mary River Communities together to celebrate the wealth and abundance that the river brings to our region through drama, music, art, fun, education and environmental discussions and displays.
The Mary River Festival is Coordinated by Cooloola Community Arts Council, Multicultural Information Network Services Inc., Community Development and Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee.
